Repeat Prescriptions

We provide all patients who take regular medication with a repeat prescription list. This should be an accurate, up to date list of all medicines taken regularly, if there are any errors, please tell us.

To obtain a repeat prescription please mark the items required on the list and deliver to the surgery or, alternatively, request your next repeat prescription using the NHS Wales App.

If you are not already registered, the NHS Wales App allows you to request repeat prescriptions online, can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store.  Find out more at NHS Wales.

If you would like us to post the prescription back to you, please supply a stamped addressed envelope.

Several local pharmacies also provide a collection and delivery service which they advertise locally. Please contact them directly to make arrangements.

We will not accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone.

* Please see note above. Routine repeat prescriptions are normally available after 48 hours.  This applies to routine requests submitted using the standard repeat request slip supplied with your last prescription.  Any other requests or amendments may cause a delay in your prescription being issued and we recommend you always use the latest repeat request slip.

If you need your medication early for any reason, eg if you are going away on holiday, please write a note of explanation on the bottom of your request slip.

We are not a dispensing practice.

Requests for items/medication not on your repeat list

If you wish to request an item/medication that you have been prescribed, often on an acute prescription, which is not listed as a repeat item/medication on your surgery records, you will usually need to see the GP who initially prescribed the item/medication for you.  They may be willing to issue a prescription if you provide additional information on an item not on a repeat prescription  form  that can be obtained from reception at the surgery.  You should contact the surgery after a few days to find out the outcome of this request.
